This is a likely French made uniform to the Captain of Company D, 1st Engineer Regiment, 1st Division. This uniform likely belonged to Captain John G. Drinkwater, who went overseas with the 1st as a lieutenant in August 1917 and returned as a captain and the commander of Co D, 1st Eng Reg in October 1919, earning him four overseas chevrons.

The uniform has US & Engineer Company D collar insignia, a 1st Division patch, and 4 overseas chevrons on the left sleeve. There is no tag remaining on the uniform which may have had a name. The uniform has moderate damage to the liner but the exterior is still in good shape.

A very attractive uniform to a rare regiment.
