Edit the following text for grammar and clarity: This Civil War-1890’s piece is truly unique, with few similar examples found. It features a post-war poem written by a Confederate major, which gained popularity in the late 19th century, printed on the back of a $5 Confederate note. Businessman Henry Schneider likely printed this poem along with his business information on the backs of many Confederate notes, which were considered worthless at that time, as a cheap form of advertising which played toward the lingering Southern sympathy. The note remains in good condition with some unfortunate water stains but the ink is largely unaffected.
