Marked to a captain in the 27th Infantry Regiment, these epaulettes are in remarkably excellent condition with only a few stray threads of bullion. The "27" is on a velvet bed of light blue surrounded by silver bullion. The epaulettes show minimal wear and are nicely marked to Horstmann Brothers & Allen New York with "left" and "right" marks as well. The case is metal and is lined in red velvet with some of it separating from the interior. Inside is a loose block with manufacturer information and a date of 1860.
This set is truly beautiful.
