Rare Irish Free State M27 Vickers Helmet, complete with the original 1927-dated liner and an early WWII replacement leather chinstrap, dated 1939 and made in Dublin. The Vickers helmet was based on the design of the German M16 helmet but produced in Ireland. Behind the liner band, there is white paint applied during WWII when the Vickers helmets were repurposed for Civil Defense. However, a collector likely removed the white paint, revealing what appears to be the original grayish-blue paint.
