Ike jacket has two pinback unmarked stars on each epaulette for major general, which would be correct for the timeframe this ike jacket was worn by Hart. The only other insignia present are 6 overseas bars in bullion on right cuff of jacket. The jacket is named to Hart inside the inner pocket and dated 1953.
Hart was a career artilleryman, graduating West Point in 1924. He rose through the ranks through both temporary and permanent promotions. He commanded the II Corps Artillery in North Africa during WWIIand retired as a Lieutenant General in 1960.
