WWI allied nation trench art that has been engraved into a 75mm brass artillery casing. The engraving features the words “Verdun” with a flower and leaf background. Verdun has become famous as the longest lasting battle of WWI with a total of 302 days of battle and an estimated over 700,000 solders perishing. The casing itself is in good shape with some notable surface rust spots and overall general patina present.
