WWI German M16 Stahlhelm, painted in dark brown and stamped “ET64” along the brim. Painted across the crown is a U.S. address for Mrs. A. I. Bellis of Blairstown, NJ, with the initials referring to Alfred I. Bellis, the soldier’s father. Cross-referencing the name with U.S. transportation logs reveals a match to Pvt. (later Chauffeur) Clarence J. Bellis, who served overseas from January 31, 1918, to June 28, 1919, with Company E, 414th Telegraph Battalion, Signal Corps. According to online sources, the 414th Telegraph Battalion was composed of railway workers from the Erie and Philadelphia railroads. Overall, the helmet is in good condition, with only a partial liner remaining.

Condition: II
