Vietnam War US Air Force light blue dress shirt and trousers named to Major General James H. Watkins. General Watkins is a decorated two-time war veteran who flew combat missions in both WWII and the Vietnam War. Watkins graduated from West Point in the class of 1943 thereafter being trained in B-17 Bombers. Watkins served as flight commander and squadron executive officer with the 483rd Bombardment Group in North Africa and Italy flying 50 combat missions in the European theater and participating in the first shuttle of American bombers into Russia. Watkins after returning state side took on many different training and instructor roles between his combat deployments but notably was assigned in 1950 to Headquarters USAF Office of the Assistant for Atomic Energy where he has sited as having associated with the development of nuclear weapons. In 1971 Watkins was assigned to the Republic of Vietnam as Chief of Air Force Advisory Group where in this capacity was responsible for the improvement and modernization program of the Vietnamese Air Force flying over 200 additional combat missions in 12 different types of aircraft. This uniform was produced in 1970 and Watkins was promoted to major general in 1971 the same year he was deployed in Vietnam which is approximately when he would of worn this uniform. 
The shirt itself is in good condition with direct embroidered rank and insignia however there are some notable stains with concentration along the left shoulder. The trousers are in great condition with no major staining or damage.
