WWI-era US Army M1910 Mounted Infantry Cartridge Belt is an updated version of the M1909 Cavalry model but is instead issued to mounted infantry. It features a three-section design, with left and right sides each equipped with two stacked cells near the buckle for holding half-moon clips for the .45-caliber S&W revolver, as well as four pockets for rifle ammunition. Many M1909 and M1910 belts were later modified by removing the revolver cells and replacing them with pouches for 1911 magazines.
While most of these belts saw service prior to WWI, particularly during the Mexican Expedition, they were largely phased out upon America’s entry into the war. This makes it unusual to find a belt with a later date that still includes rimless eagle snap fasteners, a design feature generally discontinued by 1916. This scarce belt shows minimal wear and remains in exceptional unissued condition, with only one small hole in a flap.
