WWI US Army leather aviation flight helmet complete including earpieces with cord, chinstrap with metal latch and metal tipped lacing. This flight helmet itself is a symbol of early aviation featuring the iconic headphone shape and crude leather exterior. This helmet was created by Western Electric and is labeled inside as model No. 1-A. Overall the helmet is In remarkable complete condition with intact earpieces, well preserved chinstrap and no tears to the exterior leather or internal lining. The electric components of this helmet have not been tested for functionality and are sold as is.
