These boots saw service in North Africa, Sicily and Italy campaigns while worn by Col. Kenneth Zitzman, a signals officer assigned to II Corps and the 15th Army Group from 1943-1945. They are in good but worn shape with somewhat fragile leather laces. They have been stuffed with paper to retain their shape. The boots come with a letter from Zitzman (who later became a brigadier general) to the former owner that states that these boots were worn by him in combat conditions in the aforementioned areas of operations. Also included is part of the paper from the package which has the general's name and address, former owner's name and date of 1988. These letters have been altered by us to remove John's address.
A rare opportunity to own something that has truly "been there, done that".
