Vietnam War era United States Air Force officers dress blue jacket that is named to Brigadier General Keith L. Christensen, Vice Commander of the 21st Air Force. General Christensen had a expansive Air Force career spanning over 30 years as a command pilot with more than 12,000 flying hours. Christensen served in many different operational and staff based capacities throughout his career most notably in 1968 where he was first Vice Commander then Commander of the 483rd Tactical Airlift Wing at Cam Ranh Bay Air Base in Vietnam. Christensen is most known for his selection by General of the Army Dwight Eisenhower in 1950 as his administrative assistant. In this capacity he accompanied Eisenhower to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers in Europe (SHAPE) and was given the honor of serving as first pilot of General Eisenhower’s aircraft, a C-121 Constellation.
The jacket is in immaculate shape with no notable defects or discolorations and includes a photo of Christensen as well as a biography provided by the Secretary of the Air Force Office of Information.
