WWII-era knife of likely North African origin with a grip likely made of camel hoof and a sharp clipped point housed in a theater made sheath constructed of layers of leather stitched together then reinforced with with copper rivets. On the blade it is stamped “JAJPA . ZAC” but the second J isn’t a full stamp, so it is possibly another letter, but no exact location can be determined. Being its marked in the Latin alphabet, it most likely originates from Algeria, Morocco, or Tunisia, three countries under Vichy French rule and the first to see major American offensive operations in the ETO during WWII beginning with Operation Torch in Nov 1942. Overall, the knife remains in good condition as well as the leather sheath which is still strong. Total length in sheath is 11.25”
