1960s-Cold War U.S. Navy BuAer Leather G-1 Flight Jacket, size 42, featuring a leather name tape for RADM Edward J. Costello sewn onto the left breast. The jacket dates to the mid-late 1950s and has a contract tag marked SPEC 55J14 (AER). The contract tag is hanging by a few threads, the size tag is rolled and fragile, and the contract tag in the right front pocket is washed out. There is some loss to the fur on the collar, and the jacket shows heavier wear, including cracking in the leather and wear to the wool cuffs.
