An original WWI French armband used to identify the wearer as a member of the General Staff at the Division level. The armband is constructed both front and back with silk moiré material, with a bullion soutache highlighting the edges. By improper means of storage and display, the threads holding the soutache to the armband have popped off in a few areas, leaving approximately 75-80% of the soutache stitching firmly affixed.
