Shirt is a little starchy but in good condition otherwise. It has DePuy's nametape and US Army tape, 4 general star patch on each side of collar, Combat Infantryman's Badge, parachutist's wings and a TRADOC patch on left shoulder. Shirt comes with a copy of his obituary which highlights his career.
DePuy had an extensive career, spanning from 1941 to 1977. He became a battalion commander at age 24 and fought through Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge with the 90th ID, earning the Distinguished Service Cross and three silver stars. Post war, he served in the 4th ID, learned Russian at the Defense Language Institute and served in China and other countries with the CIA. During the Vietnam War, he deployed to be Chief of Staff of Operations with Military Assistance Command, Vietnam then took command of the 1st ID in 1966. In 1973, he became the first commander of TRADOC (Training and Doctrine Command) and retired in 1977, passing away in 1992.
