Shirt has colonel and crossed rifles patches on collar, black and gold US Army nametape, Bond's white nametape and senior parachutist badge patch. Shirt is size 14 1/2 x 33 and dated 1964. The shirt comes with a pair of trousers which are size medium. Both shirt and trousers have many laundry tags on them, and are starchy. The trouser's information tag is folded and won't straighten.
The uniform was likely was worn while Bond was either Division Plans and Operations Officer of the 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell or as commander of the 501st Airborne Battle Group. A veteran of WWII and Korea, he deployed with the 199th Infantry Brigade as a brigadier general and was killed by an enemy sniper April 1st, 1970 as his command helicopter landed in the Binh Thuy District.
