WWII-era German Lion Head sword, manufactured by E. Pack & Söhne of Solingen, Germany, features a non-etched blade and a brass lion head pommel adorned with red jeweled eyes. The sword is in excellent overall condition, with a gilded handguard and backstrap that are fully intact and secure, showing no looseness or play. Both the handguard and backstrap are decorated with intricate oak leaf and foliage patterns, and the jeweled eyes on the lion pommel are firmly in place.
The primary flaw is a dent in the scabbard, which makes drawing and sheathing the blade challenging and requires considerable effort. However, this issue seems to be a minor and potentially easy fix for someone with restoration expertise. Despite this, both the sword and scabbard remain in relatively good condition and display beautifully.
