Hat is a true crusher, made to "crush" and stick in your pocket which is why the eagle folds back flat when not worn. It is khaki and features a large officer hat badge on the front. Included with the hat is a nametag with Brereton's rank and name on it.

Brereton had an extensive career, starting in the artillery in 1911, but qualifying as a military aviator on March 27, 1913. He served in the Philippines, Washington D.C., and then in France in WWI, participating in battles such as Toul and St. Mihiel. He served in Panama in the 1930's and was in multiple high-level commands during WWII to include commands of Middle East Air Forces, 1st Allied Airborne Army, and 9th and 12th Air Forces. He retired in 1948 and passed away in 1967.
