WWII U.S. Army Officer’s Wool Uniform attributed to Major General Frank F. Scowden, who served in the Quartermaster Corps. He was promoted to Brigadier General on October 1, 1940, and retired as a Major General in 1946. From 1940 to 1944, Scowden was the Director of Storage & Distribution Service in the Office of the Quartermaster General. In 1945, he served as Chief of the Supply & Economics Branch, G-5 Division, Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force. The uniform dates to around 1941 and includes his Distinguished Service Medal (DSM) for service as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Motor Transportation Corps during WWI. During WWII, Scowden was awarded two Legion of Merit medals, which are not represented on this pre-war uniform. The uniform features pin-back, single Brigadier General stars on each epaulette, which are unmarked. All other insignia are WWII-period with locking clutches. Size: 40L.
