Jacket has two nice general stars on each epaulette, U.S. collar insignia and ribbons which include Mexican Expedition, WWI Victory and Distinguished Service Medal. The jacket is named to Gen. A. L. Cox, dated Dec 20, 1941 and it was made in Washington D.C., which makes sense since he was stationed there 1942-1946.

The son of a Confederate General, Albert Cox first pursued a career in politics, graduating from the University of North Carolina and Harvard, later serving in the North Carolina House of Representatives. He became a captain of Company B, Third North Carolina Infantry in 1916 on the Mexican Border and served in WWI as colonel of 113th Field Artillery, A.E.F. He moved to Washington D.C. in 1932 and eventually became the District of Columbia Director of Selective Service and then commanding general of the Washington Provisional Brigade. He retired in 1949 as a major general in the Reserves.
